WHAT I AM…

Today, I organized my home, cleaned up a little bit, made some shopping, walked for an hour, took notes about everything as I forget them the next minute…
And, mostly I dreamt about what I want from my life!
There are so many things to do 🙂
I also made some lists on IMDb just for fun… OMG, I’ve watched a lot of movies and TV series. I mean, thousands of them. When did I do that? I guess, accumulating little by little works if you really love what you are doing. So, doing small things everyday become thousands one day. I want to develop a work environment like this. Do the best I do and do my favorite things every day. Here are my favorite things and I am good at them too:
– Travel & walk: I can walk for hours and I fit in everywhere.
– Meet new people who are different than me: I can learn just by watching. New excites me.
– Help people to create their vision in life: I am a psychologist and a life coach, I can talk people out of their existing place towards a more desired one.
– Write: I really love writing for an audience. That is you 🙂 I write really fast.
– Dream: I can do this all day long 🙂 It is my elixir of life
January was about being content with my loneliness and healing.
What’s better than nature for healing?
I spent my 2 days of this last week out in nature every day.
My hair has grown a little.
I had some disappointments in the past few days.
I know it will pass. I will never let anyone make me feel bad so I got rid of him.
I came to myself with your help.
At the end, it is me, myself and you dear reader 🙂
Thank you for making me love me again.
Alex
A month ago, I started this blog. I wrote 10 things about me and it was very depressing to honestly admit that I have many problems. Now, I will make the first monthly evaluation. My comments of today are marked with red. Updated on Jan 23, 2015.
1. Single, white, female like the fucking movie. I am single, never been married, I live alone. I am fucking alone. Therefore, I have no personal life or career. What do I have?
I am still single 🙂 However, I do not feel alone. I have you dear reader! Actually, I enjoy my alone time a lot. I have many projects so I do not think about my single status that much.
I have severe fibromyalgia, mitral valve pulmonerasis (heart disease), major depression, leaky gut syndrome, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome and the worst of it “candida albicans” throughout my digestive system. It is suprising that I haven’t died yet!
Here are the tips to make your about page more attractive & engaging to your target audience.
Note that attractive does not mean a marketing strategy. We are not selling anything. It is something you give to your audience to relate with you and your blog.
1. Show your authentic true self:
Who are you really? What are you doing on earth? What is it like to be you?
Remember that who you are before what is it about. Author is everything in a blog. Let the audience relate with you first, then your blog.
2. Give juicy details about your dark side
This is not FB so you can freely express yourself and get out of the shiny happy person image (Sorry R.E.M.)
Deepest desires, worst habits, lost hopes can be shared without any fear of judgement. Note that, I am not saying the content should be all about negative things. It should be though about the Yin as well as Yang of yourself. Show both your dark and the bright sides.
3. Clear up your mind about your purpose of writing
You do not have to do this on the first day, but it will become more clear in time. In some about pages, I get lost. You don’t want your readers to get lost. In time, clear up the unnecessary and come up with your neat, to the point purpose of writing.
4. Put some biographical information
Age, gender, location whatever you want to share. You do not have to share every detail of course but give your audience a little information about yourself so they can imagine you in front of them having a face-to-face conversation while they read your posts.
5. Put one photo of you or something depicting you as a person
It does not have to show your face, it could be anything like your hand writing a blog post for example.
Note that, putting many photos of your daily life is another distraction. You can share those moments with posts. About page should include 1 simple photo.
Just please do not put cat/flower/sunset/snowman pictures on about section. You do not have to show yourself but you may want to give an idea of yourself and you as a person.

Happy blogging 🙂
Alex
I haven’t written much about the updates on my book project. Now, it is the time 🙂
Within the past 20 days, since I started this blog, I’ve read these books:
Short Haired Women by Patrice Leconte
This is the first book of the author, who is more known as a film director. It is not found very easily. I came across to this underrated piece in a supermarket (!) by chance. It is not even on Amazon.com…
Very easy to read, diary style of a young man seeking the love of his life.
I loved the obsession of the character about short haired women and why he finds them so attractive. Since I have short hair, it was a fun to read 🙂
The Lazy Intellectual: Maximum Knowledge, Minimal Effort by Richard & James Wallace
Helpful quick facts about topics we come across in daily conversations. Not a good tool for learning deeply about something. However, it may open new horizons to new topics to investigate more. A fun-quick read.
A Book for People Who Want to Become Stinking Rich but Aren’t Quite Sure How by Benrik Ltd.
Like the title, it was so much fun to read that one. Some ideas are quite tempting too 🙂 I strongly recommend this one for fun and creative thinking.
The Only Child: How to Survive Being One by
Just started reading today. As an only child, it is a tempting read at it is based on interviews with people grew up as an only-child.
I will be reading the 10 book – box set of Dear Dumb Diary by Jim Benton this month. I love children’s books but this box set is amazing. Any adult can laugh at every page. Brilliant depiction of adults from the eyes of an 11-year-old.
That is it for this month 🙂
Love,
Alex
3. GRADUATE PHD THESIS PROJECT. Finish PhD thesis and graduate in June 2015. This is the big goal. First I have to pass my 3rd defence on 5th Jan 2015. I am absolutely not prepared. So I have to work a loooooot this week. I have to do so many things. Panic panic panic !!! (first posted on December 23rd, 2014) Updated on Jan 3rd, 2015, as I learned I have more time 3 more semesters to graduate, so I decided not to panic myself, I changed it to PhD thesis project as I want to finish the data collection & analysis & writing the first draft by the end of the year. Deadline Dec 31st, 2015.
5. BOOK JOURNAL PROJECT: Read 200 books in a year. I really am a fast reader and I will keep a journal too. (first posted on December 24th, 2014) Updated on Jan 3rd, 2015, 200 is too many 🙂 let’s make it 100 🙂
I’ve been reading New Year’s resolutions for the last 2 days and here are my observations:
1. Blogging more/every day/consistently etc.
Almost every blogger have that in their lists.
2. Weightloss
Interesting that most of the resolvers did not decide how much to lose. Therefore it is a wish, not a goal.
3. Drinking more water
This is a habit to be developed. Try doing it for 1 month and there: You have a new habit. It is neither challenging nor fun. Therefore I don’t think this will work for anyone as a resolution because developing this as a habit will not make a person feel successful.
A goal should be challenging and fun that you stick to it. Read more about goals vs wishes
4. Eating healthy
Most of the resolvers admit that they ate lots of junk and got drunk on New Year’s Eve.
5. Finishing school/graduation etc.
6. Fitness/jogging/sports
The bloggers in this group are very specific about their goals in miles/day or miliseconds.
7. Finishing “Once started” projects, mostly being postponed to 2015 from 2014 or earlier.
Sometimes giving up is a good decision. I’ve even made that a goal/project 🙂
I recommend giving up rather than feeling failed all the time. Read more about giving up as a goal itself.
8. Reading
I realized that most of the bloggers who wrote this as a resolution are also happen to be book buying addicts like me, which lead them another resolution “Buy less books, first read what you already bought” I loved this. Since I have the same addiction, this is how I stopped it: Blogging more. So this leads to the most common resolution 🙂
Please don’t get me wrong. I just wanted to add some humor 🙂
I really love reading blogs, please keep writing…
Alex
5. THE BOOK JOURNAL PROJECT: Read 200 books in a year. I really am a fast reader and I will keep a journal too.
