Remember my weightloss project? I modified my target weight:
2. IDEAL WEIGHT PROJECT. Be 100 105lbs & size 4 again, which is my ideal size since I am 5’3” (160cm) and that is tiny :))) My deadline to reach that is end of January 2015. However, I will not do a speed diet or anything. I just keep on what I eat and walk everyday. The goal does not end here of course, keeping that size throughout the year is the real deal. Daily exercise included 🙂 (first posted on December 23rd, 2014)
Modified on Jan 2nd, 2015 as I do not want to be unhealthily thin, I checked the BMI of my target 100lbs. It looks that it is underweight and not that healthy. According to my BMI, I should not be under 7st6lbs so I chose 7st7lbs which is 105lbs or 47.5kgs 🙂 Therefore, goal modified! 105lbs it is 🙂 I don’t think that it would change size. Well we will see…

I have 1 month to reach my goal! I do not change that :p
When I started this 10 days ago, I was 130lbs and now I am 120lbs 🙂 I am going really well! 15lbs to go!
Love,
Alex
I don’t like the BMI. The problem with is that it doesn’t take into account how much muscle you have and it can be quite damaging. There have been numerous instances reported of children being told they are overweight according to the BMI but these children were extremely healthy due to being very active. This even happened to my niece who goes horse riding and hasnt got an ounce of fat on her. But to be told at 13 that you are almost obese according to the chart was devestating for her.
Its a tricky one. Because we all have different shapes and proportions and energy needs. I have worked with young people who were so desperate to stay in the “correct BMI band” that they barely ate. They looked terrible and had no energy. Her parents were distraught, believing she was becoming anorexic.
As I say its a tricky one :-$

I don’t have muscles and my bones are very thin 🙂
I just don’t want to be on the underweight category, but within normal I want to be slim.
You are right. I am tiny 5’3” and my bone structure is petite so if I have high BMI this would be because of fat 🙂
Fat does not look so good on short people like me 🙂

I am 5ft 2. I was always curvy – I had an hourglass figure. After all the meds and inactivity I am now more…….spherical 😦

I like that you modified your goal to be in a healthy range. I have trouble with that myself- great job!
